The Cay: Story Elements

Characters: In The Cay there was Phillip, his mother, his father, Henrik van Boven, Stew Cat, Timothy, and the Germans who all took place in this story.

Setting: In The Cay it takes place first in Willemstad, then to the U.S. Hato and then to the little cay which all took place in the year 1942.

Main Con flit: The main conflict was trying to get off the little cay and to survive.
Man vs. man: When Phillip was being rude to Timothy.
Man vs. nature: When Timothy and Phillip were trying to fight the hurricane.
Man vs. himself: When Phillip thought Timothy was a good friend, but his mother said other wise.

Plot: Phillip and his mother were headed for the United States on a ship called the Hato. The Germans sunk the ship, so Phillip was throw on a raft with a old black man named Timothy. They floated to a little island in the Devil's Mouth, but they are far off from rescue.
Theme: The theme of this story is adventurous.

Mood: The mood of this story is happy and sad. Happy because of When they were rescued. Sad because of when Timothy died.
